Superior Tire & Rubber Corp.

Superior was founded in 1964 by a Warren, PA entrepreneur named Elwood Fry. The early sales efforts of the business were focused on retail car tire sales, recapping of tires and compression molding rubber press-on tires.

In 1980, Superior entered the polyurethane tire and load wheel markets. In order to service the polyurethane load wheel market, Superior has over 20 networked CNC machine tools as well as several programmable welders. In addition, Superior also supplies the US military with tires. Superior’s quality system in place today is a derivative of the MIL-I-45208A process put in place at that time.
